Stampede

‘Stampede’ is a recreation of the Electro-Harmonix Big Muff, first released in 1969. Originally marketed as a “harmonic distortion sustain,” it has been lumped together with fuzz effects, although it’s a very different animal than classic fuzz pedals like a Fuzz Face or a Tone Bender. It rides the line between fuzz and distortion, providing big, wooly tones and extremely long sustain.

This pedal is based specifically on the ‘73 Ram’s Head Big Muff, made famous by David Gilmour. An added midrange switch allows for the stock mid-scoop tone, a flat midrange response, or boosted midrange, useful when playing in the mix of a full band.
